Structure of the training program

The Master-2 (M2) is structured in teaching units (UE).

In fall (one week in October-November) and in winter (one month from mid-February to mid-March), students are gathered outside of Paris area , on sites housing major research instruments. These gatherings of students from four sites in France (Nancy, Marseille, Bordeaux, Paris) are coordinated within the framework of the federation “Education for sciences of fusion and hot plasmas”.

The courses are grouped into a common core of teaching attended by the entire class and into three specialization courses, each attended by about 1/3 of the class, bringing together students motivated to invest in the chosen thematic and including the winter gathering.

The various courses combine modeling, experimentation, instrumentation with close contact with major research infrastructures, in the three courses briefly illustrated below:
